Ice Storm 2007

A few pictures to show why we are out of school today. So far we still have power... 400,000+ people are not so lucky. Dale is at Sysco and they are opening up the warehouse to families without power. He may be there for a long time feeding the masses.
They have generators there.

The sheet of ice that came off the back door when we opened the front door.

The grass... each blade encased in ice.

Our tree in the back yard. The branch is touching the ground and usually it's about 10 feet up.

Our yaupon bush

This is pretty crazy.
I like the weather here in Tennessee, more and more all the time.

Chris - holy smokes! We were getting lots of snow (finally a white Christmas... unless it gets suddenly warm and melts)about the same time you were getting ice. Our weatherman is from Wisconsin and he said he would take snow storms over ice storms ANY DAY! I'm glad you didn't loose your power! WOW - those are amazing photos, and really beautiful, too.
