76 this morning.... wish you were here!

We made it to OK. Zach and Clark picked us up. Zach said he didn't get any taller, but he is TALL! Between looking up to him and Clark, we have stiff necks. Watched our first Lacrosse game. Ate at Chick-fil-A... yummy for those of you who have never experienced Chick-fil-A. We met Carrie. She is great! We'll post pictures later. Love you all.

slip n slide

We were invited to a bbq and slip n slide yesterday. I hurt in places that I didn't even know had muscles but it sure was fun. Thanks Pulvers & Watsons for a great time

Wanna see somethin' SICK?

This was Tuesday afternoon - one week after the break. They removed the soft cast to put on a hard cast. We and they are a little concerned about the puffy redness next to the incisions... he's on an antibiotic and then we'll check it again this coming Tuesday.

A closer look. The black stuff is dried blood... EWWWWW! SICK!

This is 5 days later after church (not so sick), with THE CAST!

By the way - Henry doesn't regularly read the General Conference issue, and no we didn't stage the photo. He was preparing his home teaching lesson. :)

Katie's Prom... Camille's point of view

Notice the time - Katie's date was going to pick her up at 7:15 (he called and said he'd be a little late - whew!)

It was like a scene out of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the way we attacked Katie's head....

After her hair was done, Katie got dressed in minutes - she was so fast! - while her date was being entertained downstairs by swoony Janie and Jenny.

Pre-Dance Photo Shoot (this is Cody Anderson - Katie's date of dates). Cathy made the dress, which is GORGEOUS, of course! She stayed up until 4:00am the night before hand stitching the hem....

Here we all are taking pictures and staring at them. It's sort of ridiculous, really. But they were both good natured about it. Dad has some great photos of Cody's reception and the diversionary tactics of Janie and Jenny while he waited for us to finish pinning Katie's hair upstairs. Post 'em soon, Daddy-o!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

A Week of Ups and Downs

THE UPS!

A few weeks ago, Sam recieved a letter telling him that his essay on Americanism: What Freedom Means to Me" had won either first, second, or third place and invited him to an awards banquet where he would recieve a cash prize. He was suprised he had won because it was a class assignment in the fall of last year. We, of course, were pleased and proud.
Out of 500 essasys submitted from 8 local schools, Sam won first place and a $50 check in the 6th grade boys division. But that's not all! They submitted the winning essays to a district wide contest as well with schools all across the valley, from Salmon to Preston. Sam won first place overall and won an additional $75! So he walked away with $125 last night! Isn't that amazing!

The DOWNS

So Henry's friend called me Monday morning as I was getting ready to leave for classes in Rexburg (I almost didn't answer the phone) to tell me that Henry had broken his arm when he fell off his friend's skateboard. "Yeah, right," I thought. "It's probably just a sprain."

No - it was REALLY broken. Bye-bye soccer season....

So that afternoon we went in for surgery. He has two pins in his arm currently. Funny enough, he has pins in the same arm he broke when he was 5 years old, and the same doctor did the surgery Monday as did the surgery all those year ago. Crazy, isn't it?

He'll be in a soft cast until Tuesday next week when he gets his hard cast and can go back to school. Two weeks after that they will cut a window in his cast and pull out the pins. Three weeks after THAT they will remove the cast (mid June).

AND as a bonus - Janie's been complaining about her throat and gagging on her food.

Sometimes, her tonsils are so big they're touching. So we may be going in for ANOTHER surgery after school gets out. Bye-bye family vacation to Oklahoma - we'll be funding the doctors' vacations this summer.
LIFE - it does a body good.

Time to give us your guess....

Clark's papers are in and the wait begins. I think we all need to guess where he will serve and see who is the closest.

My guess is somewhere in South America.

Clark hopes somewhere in Europe.

For those of you who live near the "non-bloggers" spread the word and help them log on and reply :)

Love you all!!!
Chris
