Happy Anniversary!

Brian and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary today! What a difference he has made in my life!

I can't wait to finally meet each and everyone of you.

Just wanted to share our day with y'all and let you know how thankful I am to have such a wonderful husband! I truly am thankful!

Love to each one of you!

The Lemonade Stand

I wish I had a picture.

Yesterday, the kids put up a lemonade stand while I was visiting teaching. They earned over $8 at $.25 per glass. LeAnn helped them divide the money fairly. Meg made $1 because she didn't stick around that long, Tommy made $2, Henry and Sam each made $.50 (or something) and Janie made $4. She was the tenacious one who stuck it out the longest. When she told us that she had stood on the corner by the stop sign with a poster to advertise, I asked her if she was wearing her swimming suit (She's been in that thing for 5 days straight - it can practically stand up by itself). And when she told us that, yes, she was wearing her swimming suit... well, it just struck me as funny to picture our neighbors and even a few big semi trucks with loads of potatoes stopping to buy lemonade from this little girl in her swimming suit... holding up a poster as if she were a model on The Price is Right. It was just so cute and so funny - I had to share it.

Love you all!

Rain, Rain Go Away

This is our "little" creek that the boys like to play in. It's usually only about 6 inches deep and about 1 to 2 feet across depending on the rain we get.... as you can see it's much wider and deeper. We have had sooo much rain and it is suppose to continue for at least 2 more days. We'll be growing webbing between our toes pretty soon.

This beautiful earth...

Today while taking our afternoon walk we saw this beautiful cloud that looked like a rainbow. We only saw it stay visible for about 10 minutes but it was awesome! (the true definition of the word) After doing my homework I found out that it is called a circumhorizontal arc and its formed by the sun being high in the sky and the ice crystals from the clouds being in just the right spot. This is a picture of one that I found on the web. Hope your day is Grand! Love you all...Russ

FYI - Zach's email address

If you haven't caught up on Zach's mission memories (see the link to the left), you should. He is doing a great work out there in any way that he can. It's so fun to read these mission experiences from Mom and Dad and now little Zachy-poo. In so many ways it makes me wish that I had gone on that mission! But I am glad I married Russ instead (really, Honey, I am). So, Zach mentioned that he loves the snail mail letters, but email is fun, too. If you don't have time to handwrite a letter, or if you don't one of the new and more expensive stamps, here is where your good wishes can reach Elder Z.: tann.z.c.fltal@myldsmail.net. FYI - Love you all!

More Tennessee Wildlife

You'd think we lived in the middle of the woods from all the wildlife we see on our deck.

A co-inky-dink

I was just looking at the Birthdays and Addresses page (so I could send Dad his Father's Day gift) and I noticed that Brian has the first birthday of the year for our family and Kathy has the last birthday of the year for our family. Nifty nugget o' news, huh.

Some of you may have seen this but it makes me laugh every time I read it. If it's too small to read, click on it to see a full size version.

Beach Adventures

Hello my dear family! Here is a short montage of video clips from our adventures on the beach while we enjoyed California. At the end of the 2.5 minute video, watch for the sea lion "playing" with Jason, Russ, and Boyd in the surf. They had been body surfing with boogie boards when the seal's face would suddenly appear inches in front of Jason's nose, then dip down and swim around him only to appear moments later behind him, almost crawling up his back! It grabbed the wrist strap to the boogie board with it's teeth and tried to take it from Jason.

Russ didn't see the seal right at first, but he did see Jason go all tense and watchful, circling around with the boogie board in front of him, as if keeping it between himself and something else. Russ thought he was playing around until he saw the look on Jason's face. He swam toward him, saw the seal, and whapped it on the head a few times with his boogie board, thinking to frighten it away. No luck - it only kept coming. Boyd was several feet away laughing at the situation.. that is until the seal swam toward him, this time with mouth open and teeth bared.

Those of us on the beach could see that something was up and walked toward them trying to get a better look. We wondered what it was - a shark? And when we saw it was a seal, we were lauging, too. Then the life guard appeared and shouted to the guys to get out of the water. They needed no encouraging! Interestingly, the seal didn't swim away, but followed them out of the water and laid upon the boogie boards. We all stayed back as the life guard instructed us, but when we started back down the beach toward our picnic area, the sea lion chased after us! All of us were hostages to the seal. We froze un til it relented and went back into the water. But each time we made a move to get the boogie boards or pack up our stuff, the seal would emerge again and charge toward us. Only when Brent and the life guard drew the seal away, farther down the beach, were we able to pack up our stuff and leave... laughing all the time! How crazy weird is that? Even the life guard said he has never seen anything like it.

So here is a sampling of what we did in California. Overall it was a great time. The kids got along really well and we all enjoyed each other's company. We all recognized Heavenly Father's hand in our protection and saftey as we traveled and as we "battled" sea lions at the beach! We look forward to a time when we can ALL be together!

Love from Camille

Laundry Laughter

Jordan and Owen have arrived at the age that they will be doing their own laundry. Jordan has been wearing his swimming suit for 2 days because that is all that is clean. Tonight Dale was getting ready to leave town for a couple of days and I was asking if he needed something washed. Jordan piped up and said, "it's time you start doing your own." Dale then realized that he didn't have any clean white socks. Jordan said, "Welcome to the world of not having clean clothes."
