Henry is a wrestler. Can you believe it?

Yes, Henry is wrestling. It was a suprise to us all that he first, tried it and second, that he loved it! So after 5 practices, he had his first tournament and won his first match by a technical fall (?), 15 points.

If you want to see the video, you can click this link. It's about 3 minutes long.

A special Halloween Song for You

Russ and Kitty wanted to share their special Halloween duet with you. It's called, "The Wolf - Man Woes." It's a sad song, really, but it has a haunting melody that seems to stay with you. In it's own quirky way, it even adds a bit of Halloween cheer. We hope you enjoy it.

Munich Missionary Letters

Hello, all ya'll. I did a thing. No offense to Mom & Dad, but their letters take up SO MUCH ROOM! So, I made their own blog - Munich Missionary Letters. There is a link to it on the left side of The Fridge (also a link to the posting page, which should make posting somewhat simpler for newbies). Anyway, I will post all of Mom and Dad's letters there when I get them.

I hope this works. If it doesn't - if it is too confusing or just freaky, we'll go back to posting their letters on The Fridge.

LOVE YA! Thanks, everyone for posting. It makes me happy to see this good communication, AND (with a sob) I think it would make the folks glad, too, to see us working to stay close (quivering sigh).

DANGER!!!!!!!!!!! NOISE HAZARD AREA!!!!!!!!!!

As some of you may already know I sent a trumpet I had to Zach. The last time I talked to Chris Owen could be heard in the background blowing away. So, the next time you take a trip to see the Okies make sure you bring your hearing protection.

Ramblings

Well, fellow fridge-gazers, gazers for short (not to be confused with geezers), how the heck are ya?! I'm having a peachy day at work today. But here during my lunch I just felt the need to BLOG a bit. Camille and I saw the new movie The Prestige last friday. There's a good flick for ya. Great twisting plot, kind of an Alfred Hitchcock type. You can never really predict whats going to happen, and then in the end... its one of those "things that make ya go HMMM!"
So how about books? I need a new novel. Of course that converstation could last forever with "how about the Harry Potter series? Nope read that one......" So maybe we'll have to post a list of favorite books or something.

Deep thought for the day. Numbers are amazing. One of my favorite little "jokes" says;

There are only 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary, and those who dont.

The joke here, is that one-zero, or what most of us recognize as ten, is binary for two, and only those who understand binary will get the joke. But, what about A? A is actually the Hexideciamal representation for...ten. So if someone holds up ten fingers and asks how many fingers am I holding up you could say A, or 1010 which is binary for ten OR 12 which is Octal for ten. Yea, Yea Ok, I'll shut-up.... I did warn you that it was the deep thought for the day.

BYU vs UNLV

So I know that I've gone to UNLV for 6 years now and although I've never really learned to cheer for a team that never wins games it doesn't make the consequences any easier. Especially when that stinkin team loses 52-7.

Love,

Howdy!

Well, I have been reading all ya'lls letters but I figured I need to get in on all the fun. This is a great way to stay up to date. I remember way back when, when we tried web pages, but they weren't as user friendly and no one frequented them. I'm glad to see we are all closer to accepting the digital age! Thank goodness that Gore invented the internet for us! Speaking of jokes....

"Light a fire for a man, you keep him warm for a day. Light a man on fire and you keep him warm for the rest of his life!!!"

Be good and we'll keep bloggin!

Meg's baptism... deep thoughts.

This is Russ's favorite photo of himself. But it is a sweet little picture of Meg and Russ at Meg's baptism.

It was a really nice day. There was a very sweet and tender spirit there. Meg has considered her baptism, as she does everything else, very seriously. We talked about it being her own decision, that if she chose not to be baptized, if she wasn't ready to make those committments and covenants that we would still feed her and love her and watch all of her football games. I am glad she chose to be baptized. When their 8 years old and two older brothers have already been baptized, it sort of becomes a tradition. The thing you do when you are eight. But I hope she knows that we wanted her to be baptized because our membership in the church, Russ and mine, have brought us so much happiness and peace - so much freedom from the troubles and sorrow of the world: lying, cheating, stealing not to mention the more grievious sins of immorality, various addictions, and the like. No loving parent would ever purposefully teach their child things that they know will bring them sorrow. Likewise, no loving parent would withold information and truth that would help their children find happiness and peace. We have taught Meg about the gospel of Jesus Christ and that baptism is the first step to returning to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again someday. We have taught her that because we believe it is true - we know it is true. We know that to be a member of Christ's church on the earth will give her tools to make good choices and to fill her life with good experiences... and these things alone can bring her peace and happiness: doing good things and making good choices - becoming more like our Savior, Jesus Christ.

And if we all strive to become like Jesus Christ, to follow His teachings and be the best person we can be, then depend on His Atonement to make up the difference, we can return to His presence and live with Him again.... together. As a family. That is where we want to be in the next part of our lives - all together learning and living and loving at the feet of our Father in Heaven and dear Eldest Brother. All together.

Deep thoughts.

Love to you all - Camille

the FRIDGE

i like the name...very creative

you know, i think that after finishing my freshman year of college as a music major, my mission is gonna be a piece of cake! i barely have enough time to sleep at night! i'm really looking forward to getting out there (funny how i say that like i know where i'm going...) next summer. I love that grandma and grandpa have set the example, not only for me, but for the rest of the family, and i can't wait to be able to write them about my own mission experiences.

i know it's this family's tendency to let anything technologically concerned to fall by the wayside, but i hope we can keep it going. i'll be adding it to my list of websites i check daily and i hope to hear from you all!

here's a great little tune by a new artist i recently discovered by the name of Michael Buble...kinda reminds me of Harry Connick Jr.! Enjoy

Mom and Dad's letters

I need your opinions. Do you want me to post Mom and Dad's letters here AND forward them in an email or just post them here and force everyone else to read them on The Fridge?

Lemme know.

Uncle Eldon

About 10 days ago, Uncle Jay called to ask about Mom and Dad, and to ask if I would forward their emails to him. We chatted briefly for a few minutes - it's always nice to talk to Uncle Jay. After hanging up the phone, I thought, "He is getting older. One of these days he isn't going to be around anymore. That will be a sad time when we start losing our uncles and aunts." A week later, I got another phone call from Uncle Jay about the sad news of Uncle Eldon's death.

I emailed Mom and Dad Saturday night before I sent the news to all of you via email. But I was unsure when they would get to check their email again. I wondered if I should call the mission office and get their phone number, but Uncle Jay had said he didn't feel it was necessary. The next morning, in Germany (which was probably about the same time I was emailing Mom and Dad with the news) a woman from Idaho Falls who was attending the international ward that Mom and Dad are currently working in, saw Mom at church and said, "Sister Price, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother." Mom, of course, had not yet read her email and this woman, Sister Manning, who obviously had better email access, had learned about Uncle Eldon's death that morning. She knew him well anyway. So, that was how Mom heard about Uncle Eldon.

Mom called home yesterday. We were all at church, but Jeri Jump was at the house - she had nipped home for a bit - and talked to Mom briefly. She gave a number where she and dad could be reached, so yesterday afternoon, Boyd called. Cathy and I were hot on his heels and so we got to talk to Mom and Dad, too. Mom said that it was better that Sister Manning was the one to tell her. Mom, understandably, started crying, and Sister Manning stayed right with her for a long, long time. I felt guilty that I hadn't called to tell her the news right off, but she said it was good how it happened. Who knows when she would have been able to get the email I sent? And by learning about it Sunday morning, she was able to call Aunt Velma and talk with her for a while. Aunt Velma said, "I wouldn't have him back here for a minute to go through the pain he has suffered the past week." Cathy noted that that really is true love, isn't it? That she would rather suffer loneliness and widowhood than have her husband back, but in pain. She is a great lady.

Uncle Eldon had been sick for nearly a month, but the past week was the worst. His lungs couldn't get enough air, not with a nasal canula, not with an oxygen mask, not with a ventilator. It's so sad. Of course, Uncle Eldon isn't the first of our uncles or aunts to pass away, but I guess I felt closer to the Risenmay uncles and aunts than the Price uncles and aunts. Does that make sense? They always seemed to be more a part of our lives than the Prices... maybe the great age difference between dad and his brothers is part of that. Anyway... it's sad that we've entered this fragile time - these sunset years of people we know and love so well.

So, the bottom line is that Mom is sad, but doing alright. It was good to talk to them yesterday - missing them really set in at that time. And being the very dignified and poised person that I am, I cried like a little girl.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00. FYI.

Love you all,

Camille

How do you add new pictures when you blog this?

Y'all aren't doing a very good job of adding things to this. We all need to do better about updating this. I know we're all busy and it's hard to find the time sometimes but I think this is probably the easiest way for us to keep current on things.

Fun and Freaky Halloween Foods

Alright guys - we have this tradition in our little family to have creepy Halloween meals the week before Halloween. After 4 years, my repetoire is a little... stale. Anyone have any fun ideas for some creepy foods?

Some of our favorites have been: Worms and Eyeballs (aka. spaghetti and meatballs with olives poked in), Witches hands (chicken breasts with slices cut to look like fingers with Mom's red ginger chicken sauce), last year we had dead man meatloaf (aka. meatloaf shaped like a dead guy with ketchup and a knife sticking out - it was pretty macabre)....

Anybody have some new ideas?

Thanks! Camille

Movies

Is anybody else disgusted by the lack of really good movies lately? It seems that most of the movies for the past month or so are so.... lame. Ya know what I mean? It's so annoying.

From the land of the Volunteers

This is a great idea. I'm surprised somebody didn't think of this sooner.
Everybody needs to include pictures.
Here are a couple of pictures of the kids, our kids.

A great idea for keeping in touch....

Great idea! If I'm not mistaken, we can also post pictures here. We should also post their weekly letters (here).

DT
Mom and Dad Price have been the Central Distribution Center of Price family information, news, funny stories, sad experiences, and cooking tips for...ever. And now we have committed to share our Central Distribution Center with the good people of Germany for 18 months.

So, we need to adapt. We need to find another way to share information, news, funny stories, sad experiences, and cooking tips with each other. A family blog - also known as a message board - could be the answer for us. Many of us are familiar with message boards, and many are not. So, I will briefly list some of the highlights.

A message board, or blog, is just like a message you would post on the door of your refridgerator for the whole family and any friends or neighbors to see and read. If Cathy posts a funny story about Jack's Halloween party at kindergarten we all get to read it. Another great thing about a blog is that those who read a message can reply. If Cindy posts a message that says, "I need to make a pecan pie - does anyone have a good recipe?" LeAnn and Kathy and Dale can reply to her message and we can read those, too! So, we could all see three great recipes for pecan pie. Another bonus is that the messages can be archived, so we can go back are read about those pecan pie recipes, or that funny story Brian told about that guy at work, or the spiritual experience Chris shared about her gospel doctrine class months later.

Of course, for this to be effective, we have to post things to read. So post some of your thoughts, ideas, questions, news, stories, or whatever on The Price Family Fridge TODAY! Bookmark this web page. Visit it often. Mark your calendar to check The Price Family Fridge once a week. Give it a try (that is how I have gained most of my internet knowledge - trial and error!) and if you're still unsure how to post, email me.

Love to you all!

Camille
