Week 3: What is something that you've learned from your parents that you've tried to implement in your own life?

So I get frustrated if we're not to church (or anywhere for that matter) 20-30 minutes early. FYI mom, Cindy doesn't think that's good :).

Try hard to magnify my callings and take time to help others. Thanks Dad.

I try to get up early, eat breakfast, and read the scriptures. Thanks for doing that with me Mom!

I remember Dad back handing me when after leading him into saying that he wasn't going to wake up early and drive me to early morning seminary when I could just go on my lunch break and I said, "well if it's not that important to you then it's not that important to me." Thanks Dad. I hope my kids don't smart off like that :)
LOVE YOU GUYS!

Favorite advice from Dad: Think before you speak, specifically, how would you feel if someone said (or did) that same thing to you.

Favorite advice from Mom: If you want things to change, you have to change yourself. After all, I'm really the only person I can control, right?

I try to be helpful and kind to anyone and everyone - I learned that from both my parents.

I've learned to call people by name. It means something when someone knows your name. That has been a life changer, Mom.

I try to start my day with something wholesome. Dad said that the new day is like a blank slate, and if you start it with prayer and scripture reading, it shapes the rest of your day. That is true... but I'm not perfect at it.
